Every year when I visit to Jodhpur, Mehrangarh fort is one place which I always visit. This fort is so beautiful and majestic that it draws me towards it again and again. Last year I had been to Mehrangarh and had enjoyed seeing historic beauty in the small museum which hosts collection of different items used by Maharajah. This time my plan was to shoot the fort during evening and hopefully capture the fort in late evening light.
I reached the fort at around 4 PM and headed straight away on the top where one can have a breathtaking view of the Jodhpur city. The sun was not down so I hanged around for a while. My only concern was that the evening will start to bloom by 6 PM which is also the time after which the visitors are not allowed in the fort.
I clicked few shots over the period of couple of hours and this is what I got.

Getting in the fort |
One more shot taken when getting in. The sky was clear and had a nice blue color. |
A small shop in the fort selling colorful puppets |
On top of the fort, overlooking the Jodhpur city |
Sun getting down quickly, unfortunately it was time to leave the fort. I always loved the golden tones in the nature during a sunset. |
Sun setting over the Jodhpur city. This one was taken quickly when going back. |
One more |
I quickly changed my lens to capture the huge ball of sun. This one was taken with my 70-300mm lens at round 250mm. |
Almost gone!!! |
After the sun was down, I got down and walked to Ganta ghar to have Mishrilal's lassi. This is another place which I always visit when I am at Jodhpur. |
